HE'S HERE!!

We welcomed Austin James Redhair into the world on Wednesday December 1, 2010 at 610am. He weighed 8 lbs 6 ounces and was 20 3/4 inches long. We had gone in Tuesday night to be induced and a little after 5 in the morning the doctor came in to break my water and said that his hand was above his head and that if he didn't put it down they would have to do a c-section. After breaking my water my placenta started separating and they were having trouble finding Austin's heartbeat. So we were rushed in for an emergency c-section and I had to be put to sleep. Once he was out he was doing awesome, I didn't get to meet my little man until he was 3hrs old so daddy was the first to get to know him. It was scary but we are both doing well.

Aubry is so in love with her baby brother, she helps feed him and reads stories to him when he is fussy. It took a week or so to adjust to having another one in the family but things are pretty much back to normal now. Austin is a good baby and settling down into a routine.

Joey is still going through his medical retirement and we were told 2 weeks ago that he will be out of the military in 6 to 9 months. It will be a big adjustment for all of us but we are excited for what the future holds. We have opted not to have a third surgery on his leg at this time because we were told there was a 50/50 chance that it would help but that there was a 50/50 chance that it could make the leg worse.

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a blessed New Year!!

Getting ready for baby!!

So as of right now Baby Redhair is a boy and should be here December 5th, we are pushing for Thanksgiving though. He is doing well so far, he measured a little big at our 28 week appointment and I have become anemic but other than that all is right on track. We have not settled on a name yet other than the middle name will be James after my dad. As of right now we are playing with a first name of Austin but nothing is set in stone.

Aubry started kindergarten two weeks ago. Her school is about 30 to 45 minutes away, so she is gone before 8 and doesn't get home till 430. So far she is doing really well except for she talks a little too much, but that is no big surprise:). Aubry started dance classes this month as well, ballet and tap. We are excited to see how the classes go because she has always been so big on singing and dancing.

Joey is in the process of medically retiring from the Army. We don't yet have an exact time frame but should be sometime in 2011. His leg has gotten much better from the time he had the surgeries done but he still walks with a cane. There is still the possibility of more surgeries and future complications but we are hoping for the best.

Some big changes have occurred in the past few weeks. The day before Aubry and me were to leave for Utah Joey was rushed into emergency surgery on his leg. He had another surgery a few days later and spent a week total in the hospital. It was a massive infection in his leg that spread all the way to the bone, they believe that a older injury from Afghanistan is what caused it. He is now home and is on IV antibiotics for the next four to five weeks. We still do not know the full impact of the damage or the surgery, quite a bit of muscle and tissue were removed and in the process nerves were damaged. The infection is gone and now it is wait and see if his leg will return to normal. For the time being his school and recruiter packet are on hold.

Despite all this, while Joey was in the hospital I found out that I was pregnant. After almost 4 years of wanting another baby, this is the month that it happens. I am just now getting excited about the idea. When I found out I was to stressed to really enjoy it. Aubry is very excited about the new baby, only problem is, is that she wants a sister and is so against the idea of a brother.

It seems that we will be in New York for awhile longer, but were are together and will be bringing a new baby into the world sometime in late November.

Now that Joey is home and the holidays are over, we were hoping to settle back into a routine and some what of a normal life. That is not the case as of right now. Aubry and me have been in KY the last month visiting my dad, he has been sick. In the next few days we will be heading back to NY for about a month and then it's on to Utah. Joey has put in his packet to become a recruiter and we are hoping that he will be stationed in Utah . If that happens we will get to be there for atleast 3 years. Joey has a school for 3 months this summer so Aubry and me will be spending that time out in Utah. Hopefully after the school Joey's orders will go through and be able to join us. So that about sums it up with what's going on. Even though things are hectic right, we still have each other and Joey is home safe. I am happy to not have to spend the summer in NY and to be out in the sunshine in Utah. I will also be returning to the Children's Academy, which I am really excited about. With everything that has gone on in the last few years I honestly don't mind all the chaos. I'm sure the 3 of us wouldn't know what to do with a quite, easy going life.

He's Home!!!

We welcomed Joey home on Thursday at 6am. I can't explain how wonderful it is for all this to finally be over. Aubry has been glued to Joey's side none stop and refused to go to school on Friday.

Homecoming!!

Aubry and I are patiently waiting for Joey to return from deployment. He is scheduled to be home on the 16th and we are so excited. It has been a very long year and it's a relief that it is coming to an end.
We're trying to stay busy and hoping this last week will pass quickly. We had a great Thanksgiving and finally after four days the tree is finished.
